ABOUT THE BOOK

When Deb Burch first had a dream about creating a book that would remind children how much God loves them, she looked heavenward and asked, "Really? This, too?"

Raising her children and working full-time for an artist, Deb felt grateful for the inspiration, but she believed she was too busy to do anything else. Her life, however, has been a series of miracles, so she knew that, somehow, creating this book was her responsibility. A couple of years later, she finally sat down, wrote the text and sent it off to a friend to illustrate. When her friend couldn't find the time to help, Deb tucked the copy away, mentioning it to others only occasionally. But occasionally was enough. Through a series of "God orchestrated" events, Deb was on the phone with someone from church who knew about her book idea when he received another call. It was Zoe Life Publishing calling to advertise in his newsletter. Deb took the opportunity to set up a meeting with Zoe Life - on Ash Wednesday 2006. After that, Deb completed the illustrations for the book herself in 40 unimaginably stress-free days, finishing on Easter Sunday. This time, when she looked to heaven, it was to say, "We did it."

Deb Burch is a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design. She lives with her husband, Dan, and six of God's greatest gifts in Manchester, Michigan.

“God’ Greatest Gift” affirms God’s great love for His creation, but in particular, His love for individual people. In all of His creation, humans are the only ones created in His image. Deb Burch’s book clearly states that each life is a gift from God!

Concerning the book “God’s Greatest Gift”, the author and her family. I have spent time in the Burch home visiting and talking about the book/books in the early stages and one thing that I remember so well is the genuine since of heart felt love that Deb and Dan have for children. It won’t take but a few minutes with Deb to know that her motivation for this project is to bring a positive message to the children. I consider it an honor to call them and their family friends.

Darrell & Ramona Roberts, Business owners

"When the Burch's came to speak to our residential youth about seeing themselves as God sees them, our kids were captivated by the message. In reading God's Greatest Gift out loud, the youngest of the abused or neglected, and the teens, many hardened delinquents, found comfort in their true and simple message presented so clearly and brightly on those pages."

Teresa Mora, Chaplain
Eagle Village Lighthouse Chapel - Residential Treatment Campus
